RePan-AI is the pioneer to provide nonstick cookware (pans, pots, rice cooker inserts, baking trays) refurbishment services in Hong Kong. We refurbish the worn-out cookware by respraying the nonstick coating—which is of the top quality provided by Daikin (a Japanese manufacturer)—using our self-developing AI and robotics technology. We are saving the damaged nonstick cookware from being dumped into landfills directly by extending the product lifespan by at least 20%. More than 90% of carbon emissions can be reduced compared to purchasing brand-new cookware (according to a study from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation).
The yearly consumption rate of nonstick cookware is approximately 2 million pieces, which shows no sign of decline due to the lack of proper cookware recycling facilities in Hong Kong and the poor quality of cheap cookware available in the market. The continuous purchase of nonstick cookware from hotels, restaurants, and households increases a substantial amount of carbon emissions, as the production of a new piece of cookware includes metal mining, large-scale manufacturing, packaging, and shipping, etc.
RePan-AI addresses this problem by localizing the entire refurbishment process, thus largely reducing carbon emissions compared to buying brand-new cookware. Thus, we empower the circular economy by providing local cookware refurbishment services to households, hotels, and restaurants.
