At Food With Benefits Limited, a FoodTech startup from HKUST, we are committed to reducing food waste by transforming surplus produce, as well as food manufacturing byproducts, into high-value, functional food products with sensible health benefits. Our flagship product is the shake-and-go smoothies, which deliver 2–3 servings of fruits and vegetables per sachet, providing consumers with a substantial daily intake of essential vitamins and minerals.

Made with optimized freeze-drying technology, the smoothies effectively reduce food waste in the supply chain with a substantially extended shelf life. With a robust distribution network across Hong Kong and Macau, our shake-and-go smoothies are offered in retail shops, restaurants, cafes, and fitness centres. Supported by the HK Housing Authority, we have opened our own retail concept at Domain Mall in Yau Tong to further facilitate engagement with the community and partners.

Our efforts are recognized by different organizations, such as HKUST, Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong Food Council, and Housing Authority, Macau Industrial Catering Associations, among others.

To date, through the sales of our products, we have contributed to preventing over 3,000 kg of food produce, translating to a net savings of more than 16,500 kg of CO2e. We are committed to further expanding our contributions!
