Eat 100 is a mobile app that sells surplus food at discounted prices in the format of a “surprise bag.” Our mission is to eliminate food waste and make sure that every meal counts. To do so, we connect restaurants that have excess and unsold food to people in need.
The problem we want to resolve is the food waste problem in Hong Kong. The gap between the excess supply from sellers could be matched by the demand from people in need, who are our targeted users. We aim to alleviate the issue by building a platform to fill this gap.
Our solution is to provide a mobile app marketplace that lets users buy nearly expired surplus food, preventing edible food from going to waste. When businesses have unsold food, they list it on Eat100. Customers can buy food at a great price. The food is bundled up in what we call “Surprise Bags.” Other than providing a delicious surprise, it ensures stores have the flexibility to sell genuine surplus food.
We stand out in the market through our distinctive blend of affordability, convenience, sustainability, and social responsibility, positioning ourselves as a leader in the fight against food waste. The platform’s competitive advantage lies in providing users with a solution that not only caters to their budgetary needs but also aligns with their values.
