Point Fit Technology is developing a non-invasive sweat sensor for continuous and real-time biomolecule monitoring for elderly care. Our core product, the PF-ACE, sticks to the skin without requiring any adhesives by utilising a novel Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene (UHMWPE) nanomembrane, a technology that simultaneously filters the water from sweat vapour. The filtered biomolecules will then be detected by the selective biomolecule sensing components using either enzymes or artificial antibody-analogues called molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP). The chemical signal transmitted by the sensing components will then be continuously transmitted via Bluetooth into our in-house mobile app to allow end users to obtain their desired health data.

Our solution provides significant advantages compared to current elderly health monitoring methods:

1. Modular: Our sensing components can be modified to detect a wide range of biomolecules as necessary to suit the complex health needs of the elderly and facilitate personalised healthcare;

2. Non-invasive: An alternative for painful and uncomfortable blood draws and biopsies, all of which not only discourage the elderly from getting regular health checks but also carry the risk of causing complications due to infections;

3. Real-time and Continuous: By removing the need to wait for lengthy lab checks, caretakers will always be up-to-date with the physiological conditions of the elderly under their care, allowing them to take prompt medical action if necessary.
