A dual solution to bringing the world closer
The Power of a Camera Lens
“Women hold up half the sky.”
Despite this, women in developing countries face serious gender discrimination, resulting to a multitude of problems such as economic dependency or even mental disorder.
Lensational’s photo-education program aims to empower women in Indonesia – both economically and emotionally through the power of a camera lens.
We envisage all women, rich and poor alike, around the world being equipped with a camera and professional photography techniques to express their hopes and dreams. This would be the first step to empower more women.
Small Museum – Big Impact
Our world has become increasingly interconnected.
However, Hong Kong society generally shows a low awareness of world issues, particularly among secondary school and university students.
Lensational has adopted the small-museum model to spread the message of women empowerment. The museum will exhibit real stories of Indonesian women – captured through photography.
The plight of Indonesian women will be the core themes in the museum. We aim to engage and educate our audience via photographs and an audio tour.
One Goal
Our ultimate goal is to source photographs from aspiring female photographers in developing countries for our museum. All proceeds from admission fees and product sales will be returned to women in the developing world for their economic empowerment.
