ZoneIn
Youth, Good Health & Well-Being
Website: http://zonein.hk/
ZoneIn is a social enterprise promoting meditation and mental health. We provide a hardware-software solution, with a gamified app and an EEG device for neurofeedback, to help teenagers, from those with diagnosed ADHD to the wider attention-span-shrinking generation, improve their mindfulness and attention span in a fun, affordable and measurable way. We address the urgent attention recession crisis caused by short videos among youth, and capitalize on the market shift following China's "Double Reduction" policy.
Although research confirms Mindfulness-Based Interventions reduce ADHD symptoms and improve attention, current execution fails due to low student compliance ("boring"), high costs, and the lack of visible results ("black box").
ZoneIn differentiates by being:
• Fun: Unlike traditional meditation apps, ZoneIn lets students train attention spans—as "HIIT for the brain"— by engaging in games, such as racing cars, which are controlled directly by their concentration levels.
• Affordable: The solution undercuts market leaders by 60%, utilizing a hybrid B2B (schools) and B2C (families) subscription model.
• Measurable: Unlike app-only solution where progress is unverified, ZoneIn uses EEG headsets and proprietary algorithms validated by HKU research, to provide quantifiable data to parents and schools with dashboards showing measurable progress.
Beyond revenue, ZoneIn aims to build the largest brain-data repository, open-source an API for researchers to build training modules on top of our signal processing engine, and publish an annual Youth Mental Wellness Report, accelerating research in adolescent ADHD and mental health.
