SEN Technology
社會科技,社會共融,教育
SEN Technology strives to deliver solutions that can make things easier for professionals who work with children with special educational needs (SEN). These include SEN teachers, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and physical therapists, all of whom endeavour to provide students with quality education that corresponds to their unique needs. Currently, in Hong Kong, the shortage of SEN professionals not only lays a heavy workload on these professionals, but also delays the appropriate help for SEN families, such as individualised training and support, for up to 12 months.
Myotapps City is a gamified training tool that is developed to satisfy the needs of all parties. It supports SEN professionals in designing home training programmes for SEN students aged 3 to 17 years old, with the objectives of improving their academic, behaviourial, and functional performance. With this accessible, affordable, and interactive tool, professionals can easily perform independent training with each student by assigning the just-right challenges to them, as well as keep track of their progress. The tool is also designed to satisfy most, if not all, needs of various parties, thanks to its growing set of evidence-based training that targets executive functioning, handwriting, social, fine motor, and visual perceptual skills, all of which are designed and developed by a team of SEN professionals. With Myotapps City, students no longer have to wait for months until receiving suitable support, but be able to receive customised training anytime and anywhere, just with a touchscreen device.
