Biomass Briquettes
Considering the fact that we are disposing tons of waste every day, why don’t we turn it into something useful?
In the third world, they commonly use biomass briquettes as fuel. It’s easy to see the reason. The briquettes conserve material and
generate easy energy. They are simply blocks of fuel made of dried biomass – dried organic products, mainly wood and grain.
We want to introduce the biomass briquettes to Hong Kong. It’s easy to see how we can convert urban waste like waste paper, sawdust
and breadcrumbs as our raw material. Working with an extremely low cost base, we can transform waste into a flexible and useful fuel with multiple uses e.g. barbecues and even electricity generation.
The major aim of producing the biomass briquettes is environment protection, although it would also be easily commercially viable. We reduce the volume of solid waste and turn it into a clean and effective energy. We save trees by providing substitution for charcoal. We make use of worthless waste and raise awareness among the public. This can all be achieved by the natural way – biomass briquettes.
