Wendervel, is a social enterprise that aims to raise local students’ cultural awareness about their district and promote the unique Hong Kong “East meets West” culture. According to our research, many local students are unable to name any cultural tourist spots in their local districts. Therefore, in order to achieve our goal, we will serve the general public through organizing District Cultural Tours. Through the cultural tours, we hope to deliver the message of cultural conservation to the younger generation, and at the same time, help the elderly and the underprivileged by providing them job opportunities.

Our name, Wendervel, is comprised of three meanings – “Wen” which stands for culture (文化), “vel” from “travel”, and it is pronounced as “wonderful”. Just as the name suggests, we pledge to provide wonderful experiences for customers through cultural travelling.

Regarding our implementation plan, we propose to begin with the Tsuen Wan district first. Then, after our business breaks even, we will progressively expand our business to all 18 districts in Hong Kong.

Finally, to sustain our objectives, we will invite our guests to take part in our business after their visit, for example inviting students to be Student Ambassadors and promote our enterprise. We believe that this approach will be effective in continuing and expanding the business.
