JiPay’s mission is to bring domestic work into the cashless economy. Therefore, we are developing the first cashless interface for employers to manage finances regarding their helpers, and for helpers to manage their own personal finances. JiPay will save time for both employers and migrant workers. However, it will also give helpers access to key tools to manage finances, including savings and remittances.

Our first product is the JiPay Expense Card: a dedicated card for helpers to make purchases for their employers. Employers can set automatic top-ups, weekly spending limits, and view spending logs in real time – saving the average household three hours per month in reconciling receipts, travelling to the ATM and counting change. Also, it will give workers more independence and help build trust between helpers and their employers.

In version 2.0 of our app, we will be releasing JiPay Payroll, the first end-to-end payroll system aimed specifically at domestic workers. Our single platform will enable employers to set and pay salaries to their helpers; and allow helpers to spend and remit their salaries at highly competitive rates.

In the long run we aim to develop a wider suite of financial products for migrant workers. The first of these are JiPay wallets for workers’ families. This will reduce remittance fees to near zero and give helpers control over how their money is spent at home. Further, we are working on a Payroll feature to develop a goal-oriented savings approach to build wealth for migrant workers.
