With the advancement of technology and communication, using mobile apps such as whatsapp and openrice to find out information, shop online and communicate has become a crucial part of our lives.
Interestingly, people often believe that the young are the driving force behind mobile applications. However, there is an increasing trend for senior citizens to use mobile applications – thereby showing the great potential in marketing computer and mobile applications to older citizens.
Owing to the surging awareness of maintaining good health among the elderly, it has been found that the majority of senior citizens are willing to spend money on health-care products including food, nutritional supplements and medicinal oils. Recent surveys also reveal that the elderly express grave concern over many factors, such as price, safety, reputation, professional advice and effectiveness of various health products. However, the lack of effective channels to access information and affordable prices for health products has been problematic for the elderly.
Our social enterprise will resolve these problems by providing an efficient, convenient and elderly-friendly e-platform for online users to rate and comment on health products. We will work in conjunction with renowned manufacturers, reputable businesses selling health products and other professionals. This service will let the elderly have a clear picture on health products as well as find out which products are suitable for them. E-groupons (e-discount coupons) sponsored by businesses, will also be provided for the seniors to obtain the products at lower prices.
